I did this piece while missing my bubby Sterling last week. I loved the sketch so much I decided to try a new way of painting and finish it. Sterling is my warrior. He's a soldier for the Iowa National Guard and has been for nearly 10 years now. His heart is pure and honorable, just like a warrior's heart should be. I always see myself as a princess, my name being Sara n' all. But also as a faery, ever since I was a little girl. So here he is, rescuing me with a clear beautiful, and glowing sky.

The new style is meant to be more loose and "sketchy" yet finished and refined in some places. I wanted to try a quicker yet still effective way of illustrating.
